The VMP is an excellent choice for Warzone players who want SMG-like aggression without being completely helpless when a fight stretches beyond the nearest doorway. Its rapid fire rate creates serious pressure, while its responsive handling makes it easy to track opponents who are sliding, strafing or attempting to escape after their armour breaks. It is naturally suited to assertive players, but this particular build adds enough control and effective range to make that aggression far more calculated.
Rather than turning the VMP into a pure point-blank weapon, this setup strengthens its performance across the close-to-medium-range space where many Warzone engagements are decided. The extended barrel, recoil-focused attachments and larger magazine make it more dependable during sustained fights, while the laser prevents the weapon from becoming too sluggish when an enemy suddenly appears nearby.
This VMP configuration balances recoil control, range and magazine capacity with the responsive aiming characteristics needed from an aggressive support weapon.

| Barrel | 14.6" Nocturnal-VI Barrel |

The 14.6" Nocturnal-VI Barrel gives the build its extended fighting potential. The VMP already produces damage quickly, but additional barrel performance helps it remain convincing when targets move beyond typical SMG distance. Improved bullet behaviour and effective range are particularly valuable against enemies crossing streets, moving between pieces of cover or trying to retreat across a rooftop. It does not transform the weapon into a long-range rifle, but it reduces the sharp drop in reliability that aggressive weapons often suffer outside their comfort zone.
That extra reach becomes much easier to exploit with the LTI Stentorian Brake and VAS Convergence Foregrip working together. A high fire rate can punish small aiming errors because the magazine disappears quickly while the sights climb away from the target. These two attachments calm the VMP during longer bursts, reducing the effort required to keep shots centred on an opponent’s upper body. The result is not a completely motionless firing pattern, but it is controlled enough to challenge mobile enemies without constantly correcting exaggerated horizontal movement.
The Erudite Extended Mag is essential for the pace this configuration encourages. Warzone opponents require sustained damage to eliminate, and the default ammunition supply can become restrictive when armour plates, missed rounds and additional squad members enter the equation. The larger magazine gives you room to finish one target and immediately pressure another rather than being forced into a reload after every exchange. That extra capacity is especially valuable in Resurgence, where fights regularly become crowded and reinforcements can appear before the first engagement has properly ended.
Adding range, recoil control and ammunition capacity can make an aggressive build feel heavier, so the 1MW Instinct Laser provides an important counterbalance. It supports faster, more confident weapon handling when entering buildings or reacting to an unexpected push. Together, these attachments create a versatile VMP that remains lively enough for close encounters but has the stability and endurance to operate as a dependable sniper-support or mobile primary.
What I like most about this setup is the freedom to start firing slightly earlier than I would with a specialised close-range VMP. If an opponent is moving between two buildings, I would not necessarily wait until they enter perfect SMG distance. The recoil support lets you begin applying pressure, force them toward cover and close the remaining gap while they are plating. The weapon feels best when you use its range improvements to control the approach rather than standing still and trading with an assault rifle.
Inside buildings, I would keep the crosshair positioned around chest height before reaching a doorway instead of relying entirely on reaction speed. The laser helps when the fight becomes sudden, but a player already aiming at the entrance still has an enormous advantage. If a squad is pushing up a staircase, the extended magazine gives you enough ammunition to punish the first player and continue firing into the second without instantly disappearing behind cover for a reload.
There is still a limit to how ambitious you should be. I would avoid challenging someone mounted behind rooftop cover or holding a distant head glitch with a low-recoil rifle. The VMP may now be more stable, but its fire rate can tempt you into wasting half a magazine on a target that is barely exposed. In that situation, repositioning through an adjacent building or waiting until the enemy begins rotating is usually the smarter choice.
Against moving targets, smooth tracking matters more than trying to snap between individual body parts. The VAS Convergence Foregrip and Stentorian Brake make sustained fire manageable, so I would follow the opponent’s movement and allow the rate of fire to do the work. When someone slides across a doorway, maintain the burst through their path rather than stopping to make a perfect correction. The Erudite Extended Mag gives you enough margin to survive a few missed rounds.
Resurgence naturally rewards the aggressive side of this build. I would use it to move quickly between rooms, chase weakened opponents and maintain pressure around redeployment hotspots. In Battle Royale, I would be slightly more selective, pairing the VMP with a sniper or long-range rifle and saving it for building clears, final-circle rotations and enemies pushing into my cover.
One habit worth developing is reloading before the situation feels completely safe. A larger magazine can create false confidence, especially after eliminating one opponent with plenty of rounds apparently remaining. If footsteps suggest that two teammates are arriving, I would rather reset behind a wall than meet them with a partially depleted magazine. The VMP wins through continuous pressure, and that advantage disappears remarkably quickly when the weapon clicks empty halfway through a second target.
This VMP loadout expands the weapon’s usefulness without sacrificing the aggressive identity that makes it appealing. The Nocturnal-VI Barrel extends its reach, the Stentorian Brake and Convergence Foregrip keep rapid fire under control, and the Erudite Extended Mag supplies the ammunition needed for squad engagements. With the Instinct Laser preserving responsive handling, the finished build feels capable in buildings, across rooftops and during short rotations between cover.
Use it as a mobile primary or alongside a dedicated long-range weapon, and the VMP becomes more than a frantic close-quarters option. It is a controlled pressure tool built for players who want to dictate when and where the next fight begins.
