The M4 remains a flexible assault rifle in Modern Warfare 4, but getting the balance between recoil control and responsiveness right can make a significant difference in multiplayer. Content creator PARADOX has shared a five-attachment configuration that combines stability-focused components with faster handling, offering an alternative to builds that prioritise either mobility or long-range accuracy.
Rather than committing entirely to one extreme, this M4 loadout for Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 uses a suppressor and underbarrel grip to support controlled fire while relying on its laser, rear grip, and stock to maintain responsiveness during engagements.
PARADOX's configuration uses the following attachments:
| Attachment Category | Attachment Name |
|---|---|
| Laser | SZ GEN.6 PEQ |
| Muzzle | FSS IS300 |
| Underbarrel | FSS Fireline Grip |
| Rear Grip | ZLR Phase Grip |
| Stock | ZLR ASP50 Stock |
The setup leaves the optic, barrel, and magazine slots untouched, retaining the M4's standard sight picture and ammunition capacity.
Two attachments provide the foundation for this configuration: the FSS IS300 and FSS Fireline Grip.
The FSS IS300 is a heavy suppressor that supports recoil control, range, and bullet velocity, although its additional weight comes with handling penalties. The FSS Fireline Grip reinforces recoil management, helping counteract some of the instability introduced by the build's more mobility-oriented components.
This combination is particularly relevant when tracking moving opponents or maintaining accuracy through consecutive shots. The objective is not simply to make the M4 faster, but to preserve enough control to take advantage of that responsiveness.
The ZLR Phase Grip shifts the balance toward quicker ADS transitions and sprint-to-fire performance. Its drawback is additional recoil, making the stabilising attachments especially important.
Meanwhile, the ZLR ASP50 Stock supports movement and strafing, giving players more freedom to reposition while aiming. That mobility comes with reduced aiming steadiness, so the configuration rewards deliberate recoil correction rather than relying entirely on passive stability.
The SZ GEN.6 PEQ is an important addition because the other attachments introduce competing handling priorities.
Its ADS and sprint-to-fire benefits help offset some of the responsiveness lost through the heavier suppressor and underbarrel setup. This makes the configuration more adaptable when transitioning between holding an angle and reacting to an unexpected opponent.
There is a visibility consideration, however. The bright aiming laser can reveal your position while aiming, potentially giving opponents information before a gunfight begins.
Avoid maintaining ADS unnecessarily when approaching exposed sightlines, particularly when attempting to catch an opponent unaware.
The most sensible application for this configuration is controlled, mobile assault-rifle gameplay.
Use the M4 to contest medium-range sightlines, support teammates during objective pushes, and reposition between engagements. The combination of recoil-focused components and mobility attachments makes it reasonable to alternate between holding angles and moving into more aggressive positions.
Three practical considerations stand out:
The absence of an optic also makes personal preference relevant. Players who struggle with the M4's iron sights may find that sacrificing one attachment for a clearer sight picture improves their consistency.
PARADOX's configuration is an interesting choice for players who want an M4 capable of transitioning between controlled engagements and faster multiplayer encounters without building exclusively around either approach.
Its main compromise is that improved movement and handling introduce recoil and aiming-stability penalties that the remaining attachments must compensate for.
Players who prefer to hold long sightlines with minimal movement may benefit from a more stability-focused alternative. Those who actively reposition, challenge objectives, and take frequent medium-range fights have a stronger reason to consider this setup.

For this build, the priority should be maintaining accurate fire while moving rather than treating the M4 as either a stationary long-range rifle or a dedicated close-quarters weapon.
