Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 Introduces X01, a Dangerous New DMZ Black Site Packed With High-Tier Rewards
Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 brings X01 to DMZ, a heavily fortified underground facility featuring elite enemies, new Orders, exclusive loot, and challenging extraction mechanics.

Call of Duty has revealed more details about X01, the new DMZ Black Site coming to Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 on November 6, 2026. The heavily fortified facility introduces dangerous enemy encounters, new objectives, exclusive equipment, and high-tier rewards that players must successfully extract to keep.
In a new official announcement, Activision highlighted the challenges awaiting Operators inside X01, where surviving the enemy forces is only part of the mission. Squads will also need to navigate a complex underground facility and find a way out before extraction opportunities disappear.
What Is X01 in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ?
X01 is a previously undiscovered weapons facility located near the borders of Hajin. According to the official Season 1 briefing, the former Russian installation is believed to have operated as a GRANIT Arms Black Site before being seized by North Korean forces.
Players will infiltrate the facility through Hajin and explore several interconnected areas, including:
- Large cargo bays and vehicle depots.
- Underground laboratories and weapons production lines.
- Dark tunnels and interconnected chambers spanning multiple floors.
- A sealed area known as the Deep Vault.
The facility will be defended by hostile forces, potentially including specialists from the 100 Spirits faction. Activision has also warned of more dangerous adversaries patrolling its interior, although their identities and abilities remain undisclosed.
New DMZ Orders, Exclusive Loot, and Dangerous Extraction Mechanics
X01 introduces multiple new pages of DMZ Orders, with Ghost acting as the Watcher responsible for guiding Operators through the facility.
His communications will help squads follow their route, identify emerging threats, and uncover additional objectives as they reach previously unexplored areas.
