Another confirmed addition is the Operator Skin Toggle.
This setting allows players to replace the appearance of other players' non-MW4 Operators with Modern Warfare 4 Operators on their own screen. It won't change anyone else's cosmetics or remove purchased skins from their accounts.
The feature will be disabled by default.
Activision has explained these changes in its official Warzone Season 1 announcement.
Multiplayer Season 1: Shoot House, Kill Block and new content
Modern Warfare 4 launched with 12 traditional 6v6 maps, additional Ground War and Gunfight environments, and the modular Kill Block battleground.
Season 1 should begin expanding that selection, although Infinity Ward has not yet published a complete list of the maps and modes arriving on November 6.
One location generating interest is Shoot House, which already has a connection to MW4 through Kill Block.
Kill Block features modular sections inspired by classic Modern Warfare environments, including Shoot House, Highrise and Crash. The developers have also confirmed that Kill Block will receive additional configurations and support for more traditional Multiplayer modes after launch.
However, the existence of Shoot House-inspired sections does not confirm that a standalone 6v6 remake will arrive in Season 1.
For now, Shipment remains the clearly dated returning Multiplayer map, arriving on October 27.
Other remastered environments and additional Kill Block configurations may follow during the game's live-service cycle, but their individual release schedules have not been confirmed.
What's coming to MW4 DMZ in Season 1?
DMZ is already playable in Modern Warfare 4, with Hajin serving as the principal extraction environment.
The mode combines PvE encounters, hostile Operators, missions, loot collection and extraction-based progression. Season 1 is expected to expand that experience rather than introduce DMZ for the first time.
Infinity Ward has teased a smaller, more contained DMZ environment comparable to Building 21 from Modern Warfare II. Community reporting has referred to this upcoming location using names including XO1 and XL1, although its precise designation remains inconsistent across sources.
The comparison with Building 21 suggests a potentially different experience from Hajin's larger-scale exploration, with more concentrated encounters and limited opportunities to avoid opposing squads. That is an interpretation of the comparison, not a confirmed description of its final mechanics.
The full Season 1 DMZ content breakdown has not yet been published. Additional missions, rewards and crafting-related content remain possibilities, but players should wait for official details before assuming they will be included at launch.
Season 1 Battle Pass and potential new weapons
Modern Warfare 4's first seasonal Battle Pass becomes available with Season 1 on November 6.
Players who purchased the Vault Edition receive access to one season of BlackCell, which can be activated when the Season 1 Battle Pass launches.
The complete reward track has not yet been revealed, leaving several important questions about its Operators, weapon Blueprints, cosmetic rewards and progression structure.
New weapons are also anticipated as part of MW4's seasonal content.
One weapon attracting attention is the FMG-9, which has reportedly appeared in promotional material connected to Modern Warfare 4. Its appearance has fuelled speculation that the compact, folding SMG could return through the Season 1 Battle Pass.
However, Activision has not officially confirmed the FMG-9 as a Season 1 Battle Pass weapon, and its inclusion should not be treated as guaranteed.
Until the full weapon list is released, there is also no reliable basis for predicting how the new additions will affect the Multiplayer or Warzone meta.
Can you preload Modern Warfare 4 Season 1?
Activision has already provided download guidance for Modern Warfare 4's initial release, including how players can select and install Warzone content.
However, a separate Season 1 preload schedule and platform-specific download sizes have not yet been confirmed.
Players who installed Warzone before MW4's seasonal integration should also be aware that the currently available installation does not automatically mean the new MW4 version is already playable.
Infinity Ward clarified in its launch patch notes that the updated version of Warzone would only become available when Season 1 begins.
For players preparing for November 6, the most practical approach is to keep their Call of Duty installation updated and check for further download instructions once Activision releases the complete seasonal roadmap.
What remains unconfirmed before November 6?
Although the release date is established, several important Season 1 details are still missing:
- The exact global launch time.
- The complete Multiplayer map and mode lineup.
- Full details of DMZ's new environment and additional content.
- The Season 1 weapon list and Battle Pass rewards.
- Official weapon balancing changes for Multiplayer and Warzone.
- Season 1 preload dates and download sizes.
For now, the strongest confirmed reason to watch November 6 is Warzone's transition to Modern Warfare 4, particularly the arrival of Hajin and Zodiac alongside major changes to legacy weapon customisation.
The complete Season 1 roadmap should establish how much additional content Multiplayer and DMZ players can expect on day one.
