Verdansk in COD Mobile Could Take Up Just 1.5GB, but There's a Catch
Verdansk is heading to Call of Duty: Mobile, with reports suggesting the iconic Battle Royale map could occupy just 1.5GB. Here's what we know about its surprisingly small size and download requirements.

Verdansk is coming to Call of Duty: Mobile on November 12, and new reports about the map's storage requirements suggest that its mobile version could be surprisingly compact.
On November 4, Call of Duty: Mobile news account @codmINTEL reported that Verdansk occupies approximately 1.5 GB, highlighting the optimisation required to bring the large Battle Royale environment to mobile devices.
However, the figure has not yet been independently confirmed through an official technical breakdown, and another report suggests that the initial download could be even smaller.
Why Verdansk's reported file size matters
Verdansk is one of Call of Duty's most recognisable Battle Royale maps, originally appearing in Warzone before reaching mobile devices through Warzone Mobile.
Bringing the environment into Call of Duty: Mobile presents a particular challenge: accommodating a large battlefield within a game that already offers numerous maps, modes, weapons and downloadable cosmetic assets.
The reported 1.5 GB figure is therefore notable, but it should not be confused with the total storage space required by the game.
There is also an important discrepancy between early reports. The Call of Duty news account Leakers On Duty has shared information from a Verdansk resource download screen suggesting a download of approximately 800 MB.
These figures could describe different measurements, such as a compressed download package and the space occupied after installation. However, that explanation remains unconfirmed.
Without official clarification, neither number should be presented as Verdansk's definitive installed size.
What players should know before downloading Verdansk
Call of Duty: Mobile already uses a resource management system that allows certain game assets to be downloaded separately.
Activision previously documented this approach in its December 2025 update, when players on Android needed to download the Isolated Battle Royale map separately before accessing it.
That distinction is particularly relevant to Verdansk. Even if the reported 1.5 GB figure proves accurate, it would not necessarily represent the additional storage required by every player.
