Warfare 4 Is Already Beating Almost Every Game on PS5 — Except One
With less than six days until Campaign Early Access, Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition has reportedly surged to No. 2 on the PS5 pre-order charts, with only GTA VI standing in its way.

Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition Climbs to No. 2 on PS5 Pre-Order Chart, Behind GTA VI
With fewer than six days remaining until Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Early Access, the game's premium Vault Edition has reportedly climbed to second place on the PlayStation 5 Store's pre-order chart, sitting behind only Grand Theft Auto VI.
The ranking offers an encouraging sign for Activision ahead of the campaign's early-access launch. It also creates an intriguing comparison between two of gaming's most recognisable franchises, although a chart position alone cannot establish how many copies either title has sold.
Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition Makes a Strong Pre-Launch Showing
The reported second-place position is particularly notable because it concerns the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition, rather than simply the game's standard release.
Premium editions generally target players willing to spend more for additional content or benefits. Seeing one perform strongly in a pre-order ranking suggests that at least some of the game's most committed fans are prepared to invest before launch.
The timing adds another dimension. With Campaign Early Access less than six days away as of October 12, attention is shifting from promotional material to the prospect of actually playing the game.
For Activision, that makes the reported ranking a potentially useful indicator of pre-launch interest.
There is, however, an important distinction between a strong chart position and confirmed commercial success.
Without publicly available sales figures, it is impossible to determine the number of pre-orders represented by second place, the revenue generated or how Modern Warfare 4 compares with previous Call of Duty releases.
GTA VI Remains Ahead on the PlayStation Store
The only title reportedly outranking Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition is Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games' highly anticipated next instalment in its open-world crime franchise.
That places two major gaming properties at the top of the reported PS5 pre-order standings, even though their appeal and release strategies are quite different.
For Modern Warfare 4, the comparison is commercially interesting but should not be overstated.
