Patch Season 2 (13 - 02 - 2026)

Warzone Ranked: New Restrictions and a Major Weapon Patch A new update for Warzone's Ranked mode, Resurgence, has been released, introducing additional restrictions and a huge wave of weapon changes, taken from the latest Black Ops 7 Warzone patch. The meta isn't expected to change significantly in the coming weeks, as changes are said to be minimal.

Ranked Play Resurgence: New Restrictions

The following items have officially been added to the restriction list in Ranked:

Shotguns, Psych Grenades, C4, Shock Sticks

This move is clearly aimed at making competitive lobbies more balanced and less chaotic, especially in close-range engagements.

Assault Rifles: Targeted Buffs and Recoil Tweaks

Some of the most notable changes include:

  • DS20 Mirage: Integrated launcher rate of fire increased from 171 RPM to 240 RPM.
  • Peacekeeper MK1: Horizontal recoil control penalty reduced.
  • X9 Maverick: Improved jumping and landing stability with its Prestige barrel attachment.

These buffs could push certain ARs back into the competitive meta, especially for players who prioritize consistency and mid-range control.

SMGs and Shotguns: Minor Adjustments

The MPC-25 received improved recoil control with its Prestige barrel, while the M10 Breacher got a Sprint-to-Fire buff via its stock attachment.

However, since shotguns are now restricted in Ranked, these changes will mainly impact public matches rather than competitive play.

LMGs: SOKOL 545 Gets Stronger

The SOKOL 545 received multiple improvements, including better movement speed, recoil control, and overheating management. It may become a more viable aggressive LMG option.

The MK. 78 also had a bug fixed to correctly apply its intended ADS spread penalty.

XM325

Attachment Adjsutments - XM325 Titan Wield

  • Fixed an issue causing the Akimbo Conversion kit to have incorrect damage and hipfire spread.
  • Now correctly has a 40% damage penalty
  • Now correctly has a 25% hipfire penalty

Snipers: Flinch Resistance Overhaul

Most sniper rifle changes revolve around flinch resistance:

Some attachments now add flinch resistance.

  • Others had their flinch bonuses reduced significantly.
  • The 5mw Lockkstep Laser now tightens hipfire spread starting at 50% of the ADS transition.
  • This likely makes sniper builds more skill-dependent, reducing overly dominant anti-flinch setups.

Pistols and Special Weapons

CODA 9 and Velox 5.7 had recoil penalties reduced on certain barrel attachments.

GDL Havoc had its reserve ammo reduced.

These are smaller tweaks, but in Ranked play, even minor changes can impact clutch situations.

What Happens to the Warzone Meta Now?

It’s important to note that this isn’t a fully Warzone-specific weapon balance pass yet. Developers confirmed that a dedicated Warzone weapon update is coming soon as part of their regular two-to-three-week update cycle. For now, with new restrictions and multiple attachment adjustments, the Warzone Ranked Resurgence meta should feel cleaner and more competitive.
