Modern Warfare 4 Just QUADRUPLED DMZ Cash Rewards in a Surprise Update!
Infinity Ward's latest MW4 update delivers massive DMZ Cash boosts, the arrival of Infected, and important Multiplayer fixes. Here's everything that changed.

The October 30 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 brings a major boost to DMZ Cash rewards, introduces Infected for Halloween weekend, and fixes several Multiplayer and DMZ issues.
Although Infinity Ward describes this as a smaller update, the economy adjustments are particularly significant for DMZ players. Some activities now award twice as much Cash, while others offer four times their previous payout.
Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Cash Rewards Get a Major Increase
The biggest change in the October 30 patch concerns the DMZ economy. Infinity Ward has increased the Cash earned from Dynamic Ops, Side Ops, and individual mission steps, making these activities more rewarding.
Here are the confirmed changes:
| DMZ Activity | Previous Reward | New Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Dynamic Ops | 5,000–10,000 Cash | 10,000–20,000 Cash |
| Side Ops | 500 Cash | 2,000 Cash |
| Mission Steps | 300 Cash | 500 Cash |
Dynamic Ops rewards have doubled, while Side Ops now provide four times their previous Cash payout. Completed mission steps also offer approximately 67% more Cash.
For players looking to accumulate Cash through mission objectives, these changes make smaller activities considerably more rewarding than before.
Importantly, these changes concern the in-game economy rather than weapon damage, movement speed, or combat balance.
DMZ Mission Fixes Remove Several Progression Problems
Beyond the economy adjustments, the update addresses bugs that could interfere with completing objectives.
The Broken Resupply Dynamic Op previously suffered from an issue where the required mission item could be missing from the marked vehicle's trunk. Infinity Ward has now fixed that problem.
Another correction affects the Information Power Order. Players could sometimes be unable to purchase Intel from the Boss Board, preventing further progression. That issue has also been resolved.
The Hunt Operator Dynamic Op receives two interface-related fixes: its missing mission timer has been restored, and objective text should no longer appear incorrectly on the in-world marker.
Additional DMZ improvements include:
- Corrected armor damage feedback, with helmet hits that do not break the helmet now displaying the intended blue indicator.
- Fixed sudden shadow changes inside the Forward Operating Base (FOB).
- Resolved a FOB crash associated with repeatedly using knife attacks.
These changes should make certain DMZ objectives more reliable without requiring players to work around the previously reported bugs.
Infected Arrives in MW4 for Halloween Weekend
Modern Warfare 4 also expands its Halloween playlist with the arrival of Infected.
The October 30 playlist update lists Infected as a new addition alongside the Halloween Party Mode.
Unlike the DMZ Cash adjustments, this addition primarily gives Multiplayer players another seasonal activity to explore.
Infinity Ward's October 30 notes confirm Infected's inclusion but do not announce any weapon balance changes alongside its arrival.
Multiplayer Fixes Target Search and Destroy, Private Matches, and Coal
The October 30 update also resolves several Multiplayer problems.
One particularly relevant fix concerns Search and Destroy, where some players could previously be removed from matches for inactivity prematurely. The patch addresses this unintended behavior.
Private Matches receive a correction for a black-screen issue that could occur when switching teams through auto-assign before a match began.
Infinity Ward has also closed unspecified exploits on the Coal map, although the official notes do not identify the individual exploit locations or methods.
Across the game, additional fixes address server crashes, incorrect Calling Card Challenge labels in the Multiplayer lobby, and Platinum Camo progress for Marksman Rifles not displaying correctly on PC.
What the October 30 Update Means for MW4 Players
For DMZ players, the most immediate benefit is the increased Cash available through regular operations. Dynamic Ops and Side Ops now offer substantially higher rewards, while several mission-related fixes remove obstacles that previously interrupted progression.
Multiplayer players receive a new Halloween playlist addition and improvements to match stability and functionality, particularly in Search and Destroy and Private Matches.
The October 30 patch does not document new weapon damage, recoil, or handling adjustments. Players following the competitive weapon meta should therefore distinguish these fixes from weapon-balancing updates.
The complete changes are documented in the official Modern Warfare 4 patch notes.
