Warzone Season 1 Introduces Movable Cover: Players Can Push Dumpsters, Boxes and More!
A first look at Modern Warfare 4 Warzone Season 1 reveals a new Movable Cover mechanic, allowing players to reposition dumpsters, boxes and other objects for tactical protection during gunfights.

Warzone is introducing a new environmental interaction in Modern Warfare 4 Season 1, allowing players to move certain objects around the battlefield and use them as cover during gunfights.
A first-look gameplay preview shared by DETONATED highlights the feature, described as Movable Cover, with dumpsters, boxes, and other objects that players can reportedly push into different positions.
The mechanic could give Warzone players more control over their immediate surroundings, rather than forcing them to rely entirely on existing structures or deployable equipment.
How Movable Cover Works in Warzone
The concept is straightforward: certain environmental objects can be repositioned by players instead of remaining fixed in place.
According to the gameplay preview shared by DETONATED, movable objects include:
- Dumpsters: Large environmental objects that can potentially provide cover when repositioned.
- Boxes: Smaller objects that players can move around the battlefield.
- Additional interactive objects: Other environmental elements may also support movement, although the complete selection has not been established.
The feature builds on the interactive environments discussed during Infinity Ward's Warzone-focused Ward Room developer presentation in October.
Unlike traditional deployable cover, this mechanic focuses on objects already present in the game world.
However, the precise interaction controls, movement restrictions, and defensive properties of these objects have not yet been fully established.
