Warzone Season 1 Is Almost Here: 2 New Maps, Game Modes and a Major Loadout Overhaul
Warzone Season 1 launches November 6 with Hajin, Zodiac, Ground Ops, Rally Point and a new in-match loadout progression system. Here's what's changing.

Warzone Season 1 launches on November 6, bringing two new maps, additional game modes and a major gameplay overhaul as Modern Warfare 4 becomes fully integrated with the free-to-play battle royale.
Raven Software's latest Season 1 announcement highlights Hajin, Zodiac, Ground Ops, Rally Point and a new in-match loadout progression system. The update also continues the gameplay improvements introduced following the Resurgence open beta.
Rather than simply adding new locations, Season 1 appears designed to change how players approach matches, develop their loadouts and experience Warzone's different modes.
Two New Warzone Maps: Hajin and Zodiac
The arrival of Hajin and Zodiac is one of the biggest confirmed additions to Warzone Season 1.
Hajin expands the Battle Royale experience, while Zodiac introduces another location for Resurgence players.
The distinction matters because the two modes encourage different approaches to combat. Battle Royale places greater emphasis on survival, positioning and managing resources over longer engagements, while Resurgence features a faster match rhythm built around respawns and squad coordination.
The new maps will join a Warzone lineup that also includes the returning Verdansk and Rebirth Island, according to Activision's official Season 1 announcement.
For players, this means Season 1 offers more than a straightforward map replacement. Different environments and modes should provide opportunities to experiment with positioning, rotations and weapon configurations.
However, the presence of new maps does not automatically establish which weapons or loadouts will perform best on them.
Ground Ops and Rally Point Expand Warzone's Modes
Season 1 also introduces Ground Ops and Rally Point, two additions specifically highlighted in Raven Software's announcement.
Their inclusion suggests that the developers are expanding Warzone's available experiences beyond its established Battle Royale and Resurgence offerings.
