This mechanic offers an alternative to traditional shotgun ammunition and introduces additional possibilities for engagements in confined spaces.
However, the attachment's effectiveness against armored Warzone opponents remains to be established.
ZLR Talonhawk: A New Melee Weapon
The ZLR Talonhawk is another weapon scheduled to arrive through a seasonal event.
Designed around heavy-hitting melee damage, it allows players to deliver rapid slashes and swipes during close-quarters engagements.
Unlike the new firearms, the Talonhawk focuses exclusively on melee combat.
Its effectiveness in Warzone will depend on how its attacks perform against opponents equipped with armor, as well as the risks involved in approaching enemies at extremely close range.
All New Weapon Attachments Coming in Season 1
In addition to the four weapons, Season 1 introduces several attachments for existing firearms.
These additions expand the customization options available to players and, in some cases, change the fundamental operation of a weapon.
| Attachment | Compatible Weapon | How to Unlock |
|---|
| ChainSAW Grip Set | FiNN LMG | Event Reward |
| Hyeon Auto Apex Attachment | Hyeon Burst Assault Rifle | Wager Match Event Reward |
| Kastov 545 Apex Attachment | Kastov 762 Assault Rifle | Wager Match Event Reward |
| M16 Burst Attachment | M4 Assault Rifle | Event Reward |
| TT Iron Guard Kit | .50 GS Pistol | Event Reward |
Weapon Conversions Could Be Among the Most Interesting Additions
Some of the most notable additions concern weapons already available in Modern Warfare 4.
The Hyeon Auto Apex Attachment introduces a fully automatic conversion for the Hyeon Burst Assault Rifle, offering an alternative to its standard firing configuration.
The Kastov 545 Apex Attachment provides another customization option for the Kastov 762, while the M16 Burst Attachment introduces burst-fire functionality for the M4.
The FiNN LMG also receives the ChainSAW Grip Set, and the .50 GS pistol gains the TT Iron Guard Kit.
These additions are particularly relevant because players will be able to experiment with alternative configurations without necessarily switching to an entirely different weapon.
How to Unlock the New Season 1 Weapons and Attachments
The weapons and attachments will not all become available through the same progression system.
The Cronen Osprey and CSG-35 are Battle Pass rewards, while the JAK 12 and ZLR Talonhawk are tied to seasonal events.
Several additional attachments will also be distributed through events, including the Wager Match Event.
Players interested in obtaining every new weapon and conversion should therefore pay attention to event availability and individual unlock requirements throughout Season 1.
How Could the New Weapons Affect the Warzone Meta?
The upcoming additions introduce several different combat options, but their competitive effectiveness cannot be established from their descriptions alone.
The Cronen Osprey offers a new assault rifle option with an unusual dual-fire conversion, while the CSG-35 provides a high-fire-rate SMG with an Akimbo attachment.
For close-range specialists, the JAK 12's explosive projectiles could be particularly interesting, although their practical effectiveness remains uncertain.
Existing weapons may also benefit from their new configurations. The Hyeon Burst, Kastov 762 and M4 are among the firearms receiving attachments that could encourage players to experiment with different builds.
However, a new attachment does not automatically make a weapon part of the Warzone meta.
Actual performance will depend on damage output, recoil behavior, handling, effective range and attachment trade-offs.
For now, Season 1 promises greater loadout variety, with several new weapons and conversions worth examining once their performance in Warzone can be properly evaluated.
