Warzone Season 1 Is Removing Over 1,000 Camos and Changing Gunsmith Forever
Warzone Season 1 is bringing massive changes to legacy weapons, removing over 1,000 camos, locking Gunsmith customization, and wiping existing custom loadouts. Here's what players need to know before the update.

Call of Duty: Warzone is preparing to make some major changes to its weapon customization system when Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 launches on November 6, 2026. While weapons from previous Call of Duty titles will remain available, players are losing access to legacy weapon camos, traditional Gunsmith customization, and their previously saved loadouts.
The restrictions affect weapons carried forward from Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6, and Black Ops 7, marking a significant departure from how Warzone has handled older arsenals.
The changes were highlighted again by DETONATED ahead of the November 2 Warzone Season 1 reveal, although Activision had already confirmed the core restrictions in an earlier announcement.
Legacy Weapon Camos Will Not Carry Forward Into Warzone Season 1
One of the biggest changes concerns weapon cosmetics.
Activision has confirmed that weapon camos earned in previous Call of Duty titles will no longer be available in Warzone following the Modern Warfare 4 integration.
The publisher originally announced that legacy camos would remain accessible, but later corrected its official statement to clarify that they would not carry forward.
This distinction matters particularly for players who spent considerable time completing mastery challenges across multiple games. Even though their older weapons will remain accessible, the associated legacy camo collections will not transfer into the new Warzone experience.
Activision has not provided an exact number of affected camos in its official announcement, although community reports suggest the change could impact more than 1,000 cosmetic unlocks.
Importantly, the restriction does not mean that every previously purchased or earned cosmetic is disappearing. Legacy Operator Skins and Weapon Blueprints will remain available.
